The DJ illustration was originally done by hand, inked on mylar, then ran through Adobe Airstream (for those who can remember that software, kudos!). The original vector file was misplaced, but there was a bitmap file that was used to retrace the design with the pentool (live trace tends to result in a line quality that is less than desirable). While this is an older design, it seemed fitting to approach it again considering it was originally an exploration in emulating the illustration style of Push Pin Studios/Peter Max from the 60’s. A few new patterns were incorporated to bring it to a fresh new level.
