Book Design
Interactive Design

With the photograph provided, the client requested a cover design that helped move the viewer to understand the mission of the book. Manipulation of the photograph toned down the distractions in the background, making the connection between the two hands the main focal point in the composition. The interior page designs reflected the details of the cover elements. The book provides essays from world-renowned great ape specialists, such as Jane Goodall. It also gives a detailed list of every great ape located in the United States. The names, ages, locations, and living conditions were listed for each ape. The living conditions listed in the book included laboratories, entertainment, sanctuaries, zoos, etc. The website was an extension of the book. However, it was not as comprehensive. Instead the website was more of an extension of the book in allowing people to participate and take action. Simple items such as contact and merchandise information were provided to facilitate the goals of the book. Of course, the book could be ordered through the website.
